Hi, I’m Nixa Rodriguez
A holistic wellness coach for those navigating stress, burnout, and body disconnection—so they can feel grounded, connected, and at home in their bodies again.
I know what it feels like to be disconnected from your body and overwhelmed by the demands of everyday life. After navigating my own journey through injury, chronic stress, and healing, I created a more sustainable approach to wellness—one rooted in nervous system support, intentional movement, and rebuilding trust in the body from the inside out.
A lifelong student of the body, in service of yours.
It started at twelve years old,
with a set of red foam-covered dumbbells and a father who believed, deeply, that your body was worth caring for. He taught me lateral raises before I knew what that meant. He cooked from scratch, drank a gallon of water a day, ate a clove of garlic every morning, and took his friends to the gym when they were struggling. Growing up in that home, I learned early: the body is your temple. Your health is the one thing you can profoundly shape — mentally, physically, spiritually, energetically, emotionally.
Through my teens, twenties, and beyond — while working in corporate America and earning my degree in Environmental and Urban Studies — fitness and wellness were never separate from my life. I was the person friends and family turned to for guidance on strength training, nutrition, and movement. I served as a teacher's assistant for Anatomy and Physiology labs at UNLV. In 2018, I completed my personal training certification through NASM — not because I had to, but because I wanted to go deeper into a subject I had loved for decades.
In May 2020, I suffered a disc herniation at L4/L5. At my worst, I was sliding along the floor because standing was too painful. My doctors recommended surgery. The medication made me feel sick and foggy — and nothing was getting better. In June, after a dry needling session went wrong, I lay curled over a pillow, sobbing, and praying for the pain to stop.
The next morning, something shifted. I stopped outsourcing my healing and started listening. I drew on everything I had studied — anatomy, movement science, somatic practice — and I built my own path back. I worked with a Thai masseuse who understood the mind-body connection. I committed to daily meditation, journaling, and nervous system regulation. Eight weeks later, I jogged two miles. My doctor couldn't believe I had healed without surgery. That experience didn't just change how I recovered — it changed how I coach.

In 2025, I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy following years of endometriosis, fibroids, and a cervical cancer scare. The surgery went well. The recovery required something no amount of strength training could provide — stillness, grace, and the willingness to meet myself exactly where I was. I learned, again, that rest is not failure. That softness is its own form of strength.
During that season of healing, I deepened my studies in yoga, nervous system regulation, and trauma-informed care — eventually completing both my 200-hour yoga teacher training and trauma-informed yoga certification.
What began as a personal search for healing evolved into a more compassionate, sustainable approach to wellness — one that honors both physical strength and the nervous system that supports it. It was in that stillness that Wellness with Nixa fully took shape — a practice built for those who are ready to stop waiting and start showing up for themselves.
Why Work With Me
There are a lot of coaches out there. What makes the difference isn't the certification on the wall — it's whether the person across from you truly understands what it means to struggle, to heal, and to rebuild.
Here is why my clients trust me with their bodies, their time, and their wellbeing.
1 I've lived what I teach.
When you tell me something hurts, I understand it in my body, not just my mind. I have been on the floor. I have done the work to come back. I know what it takes.
2 I know the body — deeply.
NASM-CPT, Yoga Alliance-registered yoga teacher training, trauma-informed yoga, somatic movement, and nervous system regulation. The breadth of my training means I can read what's actually happening and respond with intelligence.
3 I meet you where you are.
No extreme programs. No "push through the pain." No generic plans handed to you on day one. My approach begins with listening — to your history, your body, and what your life actually looks like right now.
4 I treat the whole person.
Stress, hormones, emotional weight, nervous system dysregulation — these are not separate from your physical health. They are your physical health. I work with all of it.
5 I want you to outgrow me.
My goal is your independence. The tools, habits, and awareness you build here are yours to keep — long after our work together ends. Your growth is the measure of my success.
6 I genuinely care.
Not as a brand value. As someone who has sat in fear, journaled through the hard days, and chosen to show up anyway — and who now wants to hold that same space for you.
Fun Facts
About Me
1. The Ritualist
I collect crystals, honor the full moon, and believe that tending to your energy is just as important as training your body.
2. Creativity is my reset. A coloring book, a rearranged corner, the perfect color combination — these are the moments I come back to myself.
3. The Body Mover
I lift weights, flow on my mat, and will absolutely challenge you to a dance-off. Movement has never been just one thing for me.
4. The Nurturer
Cats, books, and quiet mornings are my reset. Every great wellness guide needs to know how to receive rest, not just teach it.
Ready to take the next step?
